Following years of social media contributing to the proliferation of hate, extremism, and disinformation, we now see tech titans cozying up to the US Administration eager to exploit division for political gain. 

In this conversation, we’ll look at how Big Tech is contributing to the democratic backslide, what the tech companies want from Trump, and how we can change our relationship with these platforms for the better.

Carole Cadwalladr is a Pulitzer-nominated journalist and co-founder of the Citizens, a journalism and campaigning non-profit. She previously was a writer for The Guardianand The Observer, and can now be found on her Substack, How To Survive The Broligarchy.

Yael Eisenstat is Director for Policy and Impact at Cybersecurity for Democracy out of NYU. She was previously Vice President at the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), heading its Center for Technology and Society; Facebook’s Global Head of Elections Integrity for political ads in 2018; and served as a diplomat, intelligence officer, and a White House advisor.
